(Corp) System Administrator, Information Technology
Qualifications and Education
Minimum: Two year degree program completed at an accredited University or College and five years of related Information Technology work.
Preferred: Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with one or more certifications: CompTIA, Microsoft MSCE, Cisco,ITIL, CISSP, or others.
Considerable (3 years or more) and current experience as an System Administrator on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products.
•Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
•Demonstrated ability to administer a 250+ node network including firewalls.
•Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
•Demonstrated working knowledge of current communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies.
•Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
•Supervising, coaching, and mentoring of a seasonal network services assistant position.
•Highly developed verbal and written communications.

The System Administrator role is to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly networks, servers, data communications, and telecommunications systems. The System Administrator work and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
The position is responsible for all aspects of network administration including Point of Sales system, servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems. Additionally, the position is part of the Service Desk team and assists with service desk tickets.
This position reports to the IT and works with the Corporate IT Group and Corporate staff, following companywide standards, procedures and protocols.
Requirements, Duties and Responsibilities
•Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, internet access, office systems and applications support).
•Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
•Performs technology needs analysis; maintains accurate IT inventories and network diagrams.
•Rolls out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
•Plans with Information Technology Staff, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
•Manages small to medium sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
•Performs other duties and tasks as instructed.
