Job Title: Production Support Technician - Writing/Story

Job Description: If you are interested in how a game script gets written, and how a game writer works- then this is the role for you. Insomniac Games is looking for a Production Support Technician in our Story group- one who supports multiple aspects of the development process and software systems used by the Story team and production functions to develop games. This person would create, modify, and implement assets and documents for gameplay and story. You would be responsible for handling bug reporting, organization, and tracking for all story related issues. Read on if it sounds interesting:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Work with QA to ensure that all dialogue is playing properly according to latest script.
• Prep recording script for voice-over and performance capture sessions
• Prep video for voice-over sessions- recording video from latest gameplay and editing files to line up with cinematic scripts
• Implement emergent dialogue according to script
• Keep track of all story threads, and alert writers to issues with continuity
• Help diagnose issues and implement dialogue in cinematics (a.k.a. “cine2” files)
• Maintain spreadsheet/documents of who’s responsible for what and help writers stay up to date on statuses of dialogue and needs
• Create and maintain “How To” documentation for reference for the studio
• Other duties may apply

Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, OneNote, etc.).
• Basic understanding and knowledge of Perforce and Final Draft.
• Basic understanding of video capture and editing.
• A willingness to learn and use proprietary tools (e.g., LAMS) and procedures.
• Ability to create and maintain shared documents regarding task procedures.

Other Skills: Must possess a clear understanding of and knowledge of the development cycle; understanding bug priorities, ability to detect problem areas, possess a strong attention to detail. Must have the ability to build and maintain close rapport with other departments and remain flexible and ready to change priorities in an instant. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to correctly create and prioritize tasks.
