Job Title: Production Mechanic

Requirements:  Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic prints and diagrams and ladder logic programs is desired.
 PC literate and basic understanding of industrial control systems and mechanics.
 Proficient in using hand, power, shop and diagnostic tools.
 Skilled in electrical power/controls, mechanical and fluid handling systems.
 Knowledge of production line packaging, filling equipment and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
 Ability to coordinate multiple job effectives, and to handle detailed and broad range projects. Must be detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
 Light TIG and MIG welding required for fabrication and repair of parts.
 Ability to work with minimal supervision and to work flexible hours. This is a night shift position and will require weekend/holiday work, and overtime.
 Ability to communicate effectively (read, write, comprehension) and follow complicated verbal and/or written instructions.
 Ability to stoop, bend and stand on a frequent basis. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds.
 Physical ability to climb ladders, stairs, crawl through manholes, work on roofs, in tanks and in forklift cages.
 Three (3) years experience in packaging line maintenance of highly automated machinery in food or beverage manufacturing facility.
 Post high school or maintenance vocational training/experience required.
Job Description:  Perform troubleshooting, repair work and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery, equipment and instrumentation to sustain plant operations at highly efficient levels. Majority of workload will be preventative maintenance, but will fill in for production mechanic as needed.
 Equipment includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and fluid handling systems.
 Install and modify production equipment and machinery. Work in a team atmosphere. Follow GMP/PPE requirements.
 Document project activities and prepare appropriate operating standards and/or maintenance procedures for all equipment and processes.
 Complete documentation process for machinery usage, equipment maintenance and purchases. Complete documentation for all PM's, time sheets, and work orders.
 Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies necessary for this position. Maintain cleanliness of maintenance equipment shop.
 Maintain familiarity with state of the art manufacturing equipment and processes, and relationships with appropriate equipment vendors and suppliers.
 Operate forklift to move equipment/machinery. Operate scissor lift and boom truck.
