Manufacturing / Quality Engineering:
Students being placed in an Intern - Manufacturing, Quality or Test Engineering role will solve technical process, product or component problems affecting efficient manufacturing of electronic assemblies within a specific area of responsibility, from introduction of new products to existing processes. Continuous improvement and implementation of world-class manufacturing techniques are important aspects of this responsibility. Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing is an asset.
Activities but not limited to, the following:
Project co-ordination and customer interfacing
Design of experiments, tools, and fixtures
Support the development and updating of assembly work instructions
Improving quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process; process optimization
Engineering Support of Shop Floor Control Tool
Manufacturing technical support for new and existing products
Students who excel in this position enjoy working on the hardware-software boundary, and are driven by complex problem solving in a fast-paced environment. You should be familiar with most of the electronic technologies and be able to work with products for the computing, data networking, and communications marketplace.
Activities but not limited to, the following:
Resolution of high impact problems
Failure analysis of difficult complex problems
Work with customer to optimize design for low cost & high yield
Analyze, enhance and optimize the production test process and equipment for improved cost, and efficiency (involves HW, SW, data/trend analysis)
New Product Introduction into Manufacturing
Tester installation, qualification
Assist in test development and design
Mfg. tech training on use and failure analysis of product and equipment
Analysis and resolution of production problems in test equipment (HW/SW), product design, components or assembly defects
Work with other Celestica facilities to deliver common test solutions

Fulfills requirements of University or College Internship program in a Support function whereby the duties are categorized as "Indirect" labour. Duties fulfill the requirements of the specific internship program.
Students should be currently enrolled in an Engineering Internship program and have completed their 3rd year. We are looking for a team player who possesses good communication skills (written and verbal), able to learn quickly, self motivated and takes initiative.
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).
Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
Experience: No formal experience is required.
Education: currently enrolled in University Internship program.
