Position Summary:
 
The Graphic Designer is responsible for the concept and execution of visual layouts and deliverables that support marketing initiatives. The designer will work alongside the marketing team to complete various print and electronic design projects and will take a proactive role in the concept phase of marketing material development, in addition to the management of deadlines and costs related to these projects. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
  • Illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style.
  • Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Internet websites.
  • Create, develop, design and produce collateral and Web-based materials for the Armstrong Group of Companies including but not limited to print and newsletters, promotional material, direct mail pieces, flyers and brochures.
  • Prepare visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts and additional work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
  • Prepare notes and instructions for workers who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing.
  • Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Conceptualize manage ad oversee photo-shoots, including location scouts, choosing talent and photographer

Requirements:
Qualifications
  • 5 years’ design experience, including but not limited to: print collateral, outdoor, signage, vehicle wraps, Copy writing/proofing.  Proof of experience and/or samples will be required.
  • 5 years’ experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (or comparable page layout software), Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and Adobe Acrobat. Photography experience a plus.
  • Experience in preparing files for digital and offset printing. 
  • Experience in obtaining bids from printers and other vendors.
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management and analytical/problem solving skills are required, along with a high degree of flexibility. 
  • Self-starter and accustomed to leading projects with little supervision. 
  • B.A. Design Degree with an emphasis in graphic design / or equivalent work. Advanced degree is preferred.
