Position Summary:

The individual is responsible for managing all facets of Customer Billing for Armstrong Utilities and the Armstrong Telephone Companies.  Additionally, responsible to design, implement and enforce controls, policies and procedures, to facilitate an effective, streamlined billing processes that ensures timely and accurate revenue recognition.  
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination of the daily / nightly billing process.
  • Responsible for Credit Policy Resolutions for customers
  • Assist Collections process and activity as needed.  
  • Maintain all tables in the billing system to properly assess appropriate product rates and related taxes and fees
  • Assist Finance, Sales and other external department through sales queries and other system data mining approaches
  • Keep up with all Industry and Billing system issues impacting company to assure we remain compliant and efficient in our processes
  • Asist with strategic plans and reviews
  • Maintain relationships and process to ensure issue resolution with various payment processors and banking institutions
  • Accomplish billing departmental objectives through measurement of results against plans, evaluating and improving methods, making required changes
  • Guide employee actions by researching, developing, writing and updating billing policies, procedures, methods and guidelines.
  • Support the finance department and organizational goals as required:
    • Annual and periodic implementation of rate increases
    • Create and help manage campaign and promotional offers
  • Provide month-end closing of the billing group information
  • Responsible personnel development; recurring staff meetings
  • Responsible for the field operators’ problem escalation and customer service
  • Assist with the implementation of a new billing system
  • Bachelor’s degree: IT, Accounting or Business Management preferred
  • Knowledge of Billing systems and processes
    • Experience with Cable Master, ICOMs and/or CommSoft preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
    • SQL skills preferred
  • Proven ability to perform strategic planning and priority setting 
  • Proven track record for improving process efficiencies and solving problems
  • Management experience with excellent leadership skills and an ability to motivate the team to surpass business goals 
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent organization, team development, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
