Position Summary:
 
We are seeking an experienced Trainer who loves making a difference in their organization. The Sales & Retention Trainer is responsible for training and coaching of various frontline sales and retention personnel throughout the company. The Trainer will develop, plan and facilitate group and individual training sessions utilizing various delivery methods – classroom, coaching and web-based for example.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create and conduct ongoing and progressive training and professional development programs in alignment with Armstrong’s strategic business objectives for sales and customer retention personnel and others as required that include engaging presentations, content, role plays scenarios and exercises through on-site, webinar and classroom sessions.
  • Introduce strategies and concepts to improve the abilities, performance and results of Inside Sales and Retention Agents and other customer-facing personnel. Other functional groups may include field technicians, technical & customer service representatives, management and supervisory staff.
  • Facilitate learning solutions and “train the trainer” sessions, as required.
  • Develop and maintain sales and retention training manuals.
  • Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions with applicable new hire Sales, Retention and applicable local office employees.
  • Observe and monitor inside sales and retention calls and local office customer interactions to evaluate progress and reinforce training and continued development.
  • Utilize KPIs and other applicable data metrics to measure effectiveness and business impact of training programs and to develop, administer and analyze needs assessments and post-training evaluations.
  • Analyze and prepare data to identify consumer and industry trends that may impact sales and retention - present applicable training strategies to address changes and shifts.
  • Collaborate with Team Supervisors and Managers in setting performance improvement plans, setting goals, objectives and expectations.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Sales & customer service training experience in telecommunications, utilities, healthcare or consumer services sector preferred.
  • Strong selling and presentation skills, contagious enthusiasm and a passion for training and development.
  • Track record in designing and executing effective training and professional development programs.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and motivational skills.
  • Experience in a Call Center environment preferred.
  • Strong analytical, report writing and record keeping abilities.
  • Experience in instructor-led and e-Learning course design and development preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of adult learning theory, the instructional design process, best practices and standards, blended learning approaches and evaluation methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, visual and virtual communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or certifications preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing and implementing training programs.
