Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Purchasing Manager manages all purchasing activities; Analyzes purchase requests and grants approval of purchase orders related to goods and services; Analyzes changes or new issues in materials and supplies to find ways to reduce costs and improve quality.



  • Create and implement purchasing strategies and policies 
  • Process all orders in a timely manner to meet or exceed budgetary requirements 
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships 
  • Utilize sound negotiation and value analysis skills to reduce overall costs 
  • Routinely evaluate vendor performance 
  • Research component descriptions to ensure vendor compliance with company specifications 
  • Prepare contracts and issue POs in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions 
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and registers related to purchasing activities 
  • Work with vendors to reduce lead times and streamline purchasing activities
  • Lead special projects, analysis and benchmarking
  • Manage customer premise equipment levels, manufacturers and repair organizations
  • Reports to VP of Financial Reporting



  • 5 or more years’ of purchasing experience
  • An excellent negotiator who is experienced in contract and pricing negotiation
  • A well organized, energetic, self-directed individual; forward-thinking and creative 
  • A team oriented individual with analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
