Position Summary:

The Community Marketing Manager will have primary responsibility for all system level public relations, community outreach and local marketing tactics. This position will report to the General Manger of the system, with a heavy dotted line to the corporate marketing and governmental relations teams. Outreach will consist of becoming an active member in local organizations, working with local group such as municipal organizations and service groups and sponsoring and participating in local events. Other key responsibilities will include training, marketing awareness, morale, brand management and commercial sales support. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create strong ties within the community by being involved in local organizations, fostering good will and expanding the image of the company. 
  • Position is also responsible for local marketing efforts including budget compliance, market awareness and working closely with the General Manager and the corporate marketing and governmental affairs teams. 
  • Public relations duties to include developing and maintaining relationships with local leaders, the ability to speak at events and meetings, keeping the community informed of Armstrong’s local commitment. Use other tactics such as press releases, op-ed pieces and interviews. 
  • Event management and coordination are key responsibilities of this position. Working closely with general Manager and the corporate teams, this individual will be required to evaluate sponsorship of local community events, attend and represent Armstrong at various events, and be involved with local groups during the planning stages.

 


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree strongly preferred in the fields of Public Relations, Marketing or Communications. 
  • 3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Must be very organized and able to meet deadlines. 
  • Must be comfortable to speak publicly in a compelling manner. 
  • Must be able to work in a fast-changing environment.  
  • Must have excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex issues to a variety of audiences.  
  • Must have good people skills and be able to work as part of a close-knit local team while having the maturity to keep more remote managerial relationships current.
  • Ability and willingness to work events at various times of the week; be able to work without heavy supervision, and be able to manage volunteers and event staff as needed.
